Practical Philosophy
The Universe is just a collection of thoughts or, in other words, the Mind. Thought is the basic element of the Universe. Thoughts are everything there is in the Universe. The Universe or the Mind is one and whole, and all the divisions into separate subjects and objects are merely illusory. It is just an appearance.
By the Universe here I mean not only the Physical World, or the world of matter, but also the Immaterial World, or the World of Spirit. Everything - matter, energy, Spirit, - are nothing else but thought-forms. The subdivision of the Universe into Physical and Spiritual is merely a convention, a model. In reality of course there is no subdivision, for all is one. It is in an attempt to understand the Oneness that the Mind creates illusions of separation, because to understand something implies existence of the knower and knowable, and therefore assumes existence of the two as separate entities.
The Universe is governed by the law of cause and effect or the principle of causality. Every natural law is a form of that principle. Everything in Nature seems to be so well ordered and balanced, that we cannot help but marvel at the apparent harmony and causal connection between the various events and things. But when we start digging deeper into the soil of the natural laws we discover that actually none of them is universal. Every law has a limited realm of validity, and beyond this realm it fails to operate. And then what transpires is that there is only Chaos, a perfect Chaos. The chain of causes that produced the appearance of the natural laws is in fact infinite and hopelessly intertwined, and the ultimate cause or, better to say, the Source of everything cannot be found. It lies beyond this world, and hence is beyond comprehension. It reigns in the realm of Reality.
