Freedom Necessity

The greatest freedom a man can have is realisation of necessity of everything happening to and around him. For in the world of appearances all is bound by the principle of causality. However, the absolute necessity is as much inconceivable as the absolute freedom. Both necessity and freedom are only relative. The causes of every action or event are connected with each other in an endless intricate chain, which is impossible to untangle, since the ultimate cause of everything lies beyond this world and is unknowable. Because of that, on the "bigger scale" life is merely a Chaos. But it is a very special Chaos, in which most of the time everything seems to happen according to laws and rules, and then, all of a sudden, the laws are broken and rules are ridiculed, and we are left with an awesome apprehension that there is something greater which is above all laws and beyond the common sense.

Utterly, nothing at all is predictable. Even the simplest, the most foreseeable event, which seems bound to happen the very next moment, may not occur. On the one hand, we are puppets in the hands of unfathomable Destiny;

on the other hand - we are free to chose as we will, because the consequences are never certain and hence nothing is fatal. In realisation of this lies our freedom and the beauty of being a slave to no master.
